My name is James Viney and I live in Esher in South-west London. I am at the Mall School in Twickenham and I am into Rugby, Cricket, Drama and loads more. I have a great bunch of friends and a crazy - but lovely - family. My dad says I am like a force of nature - which I think means a hurricane or something.
Rugby I play for Teddington Rugby Football Club. We have been Middlesex County Champions a number of times over the last few years... and also made the finals of the Gullivers National Minis Festival at Twickenham on two occasions. I play scrum half, which is great becuase I get to boss everyone around, tackle hard and make little line breaks. I also captain my school team (at the Mall) and have played a little Rugby League, for Whitton Warriors. In 2010, I got accepted into the London Wasps England Rugby Academy, in the Middlesex County School of Rugby. What a mouthful! It basically means I play for my County! And might one day get to play for England... or at least Sri Lanka. Ha ha. Cricket In the summer, I play cricket for my School A-side and for Sunbury CC. Sunbury had a fantastic 2010 season. We didn't lose a single game and collected four trophies (being West Surrey and West Middlesex League AND Cup winners)! I bowl a bit but mostly I am a batsman... a real slogger, I am afraid! Either a quick-fire 20-odd or it's all over! Chess I know it's a strange mix, but I also play chess! The last time I competed, I finished in the top 100 of all players in the country at my age, by winning a rosette in the Southern Gigafinal of the British Land National Chess Challenge. Just like in my rugby, I am a very attacking player and like to take outrageous risks. Final Words I hope you like my webpage and that you check back from time to time.
