Founded in 2006, UK Directory Services is a business with but one simple aim - to create vertical (or "industry-specific") business directories that help web users find the resources and businesses that they need. We make money from business owners (who pay to be listed on the directories) and from users (who click on advertisements they see on the sites).

Our Development Pipelines

At any one time, we have three different categories of directory "on our books". Developmental directories are those where we have acquired a domain name and are in the process of actively optimising the site. Such directories tend to be less than one year old. Maturing directories are those where the optimisation has been completed and we are actively marketing the directory (often for free) to new businesses. Fully Mature Directories are those which have reached a critical mass (in terms of usage and numbers of listings). Generally, such directories require payment for listings.

UK Wedding Directory

The oldest site in our portfolio, the UK Wedding Directory is an example of a fully mature directory. There are several hundred businesses listed on the directory and new businesses pay £7.99 per annum for a new listing. The site serves many thousands of visits per month and delivers a healthy advertising revenue.

Private Medical Directory

Currently maturing, the Private Medical Directory is set to become a leading source of information about private medical consultants, alternative medicine providers, private medical insurance and more.

Second Life Crawler

More experimental, the Second Life Crawler is both a directory and a search engine; dedicated to locating Second Life resources from across the web (and based on the Google Custom Search Engine service).

Our Future Plans

We have a number of other directories under development. However, we take our time! We are more than busy enough with our other businesses and the entire directory stream is very much something we do during our "spare time".
